Membership Agreement
Membership is open to anyone based in Dumfries & Galloway or further afield with an interest in Lochhill Agroecological Farm, Crossmichael, Dumfries and Galloway. Whether you are a local resident, a land worker, an educator, a learner, a business or an organization if you are interested in our work and would like to join a group of people who are passionate about agroecological farming for biodiversity, knowledge sharing and building sustainable resilient livelihoods, then we’d love you to become a member!
1. Objectives of Lochhill Agroecological Farm C.I.C.
(From our Articles of Association section 3 at Companies House)
- Work cooperatively to nurture and support sustainable, resilient and ecological land-based enterprises, including enterprises that aim to produce high quality food.
- Develop and deliver learning and training programmes that increase knowledge of, and skills in monitoring, biodiversity; and knowledge, experience and confidence in nature friendly farming.
- Plan and implement projects that increase the biodiversity and overall ecological value of Lochhill Farm.
- Actively be part of a resilient and sustainable rural community, including through active participation in the local food supply network.
- Work collaboratively with other organisations to achieve the above aims.
2. Membership Application
- Membership is tiered with free and paid for levels for individuals and organisations.
- Members are required to complete the application form electronically or request a paper copy by calling 07587122151.
- Membership lasts for as long as Lochhill Agroecological Farm is trading as a community interest company.
- Membership can be ended at any time by written notice to lochhillfarm@proton.me.
- All members will be invited to attend our Annual General Meeting and will be able to vote on matters arising.
- Members are expected to positively promote the work and benefits of supporting Lochhill Agroecological Farm.
- Members are welcomed to offer any skills or time they may have for volunteering for Lochhill Agroecological Farm.
- The Lochhill Agroecological Farm is run by a board of directors who are selected from the membership.
- Any issues can be taken to the board for their consideration and their decision is final.
- Any person or organisation found to be breaching the support expected from a member may have their application terminated by the board.
- Your data is protected by GDPR and will not be shared with any other members or third parties.
- Under section 8.1 of the company articles, should there be any debts outstanding once the company ceases trading, members would be liable to contribute up to a maximum of £1 towards costs.

To be a place for sustainable and resilient livelihoods
To share knowledge and learning through events and workshops
